Level Bot is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
By using the Bot, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
Data We Collect
We collect data necessary to provide leveling, statistics, and reputation features.
Server-Level Data
- Server ID - Discord's unique identifier for your server
- Channel IDs - Identifiers for whitelisted/blacklisted channels
- Role IDs - Identifiers for configured roles (rewards, multipliers, restrictions)
- Configuration settings - XP ranges, cooldowns, multipliers, announcement templates, and feature toggles
User-Level Data
- User ID - Discord's numeric identifier (not username)
- XP and level - Experience points and calculated level
- Message count - Total messages sent in tracked channels
- Media count - Messages containing attachments
- Reaction counts - Reactions added and received
- Reputation points - Rep received from other users
- Leaderboard rank - Pre-computed position on the server leaderboard
What We DO NOT Collect
- Message content or text
- Usernames, display names, or discriminators
- Profile pictures or avatars
- Direct messages or private channels
- Email addresses or personal contact info
- IP addresses or device information
- Attachment files or media content
How We Use Your Data
Collected data is used exclusively for:
- Leveling system - Tracking XP, calculating levels, and maintaining leaderboards
- Role assignment - Automatically assigning roles based on level, rank, stats, or reputation
- Statistics - Displaying user stats via the /stats command
- Reputation - Tracking and displaying reputation points
- Announcements - Sending level-up and rank-up notifications
We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties.
Data Retention
- User statistics - Retained until manually reset by a server administrator or the user opts out
- Server configuration - Retained until the Bot is removed from the server
- Role assignment records - Retained while the role rule is active
Data may be retained indefinitely for leaderboard purposes. You may request deletion at any time.
Data Security
- Data stored in secure MongoDB databases with TLS encryption
- No public API exposes raw user data
- Database access restricted to authorized personnel only
- Atomic database operations prevent data corruption
Your Rights & Choices
Opt-Out of Tracking
Use /opt-out to opt out at any time. When opted out:
- Your messages will not be counted or earn XP
- Your reactions will not be tracked (given or received)
- You cannot give or receive reputation
- Your User ID is stored to maintain your opt-out preference
Use /opt-out again to re-enable tracking.
Server Administrator Controls
- Enable or disable the entire leveling system via
/setup
- Enable or disable the reputation system via
/rep config
- Whitelist or blacklist specific channels
- Whitelist or blacklist specific roles
- Reset individual user data or the entire leaderboard
Data Deletion
To request deletion of your data, join our Support Server and contact staff. Requests processed within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
The Bot follows Discord's Terms of Service requiring users to be 13+. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
