Moderation Bot is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
By using the Bot, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
Data We Collect
We collect data necessary to perform moderation actions and maintain moderation logs.
Server-Level Data
- Server ID — Discord’s unique identifier for your server
- Role IDs — Identifiers for configured allowed roles and immune roles per action
- Configuration settings — Cooldown values and appeal links per moderation action
Moderation Log Data
- User ID — Discord’s numeric identifier of the moderated user
- Moderator ID — Discord’s numeric identifier of the moderator
- Action type — The action taken (ban, unban, kick, timeout, untimeout, warn, nickname)
- Reason — The reason provided by the moderator
- Timestamp — When the action occurred
What We DO NOT Collect
- Message content or text
- Usernames, display names, or discriminators
- Profile pictures or avatars
- Direct messages or private channels
- Email addresses or personal contact info
- IP addresses or device information
- Member activity or behavior beyond moderation actions
How We Use Your Data
Collected data is used exclusively for:
- Permission checks — Verifying moderators have allowed roles and targets don’t have immune roles
- Moderation logging — Recording actions for accountability and review via
/modlogs - Cooldown enforcement — Preventing moderators from spamming actions
- Appeal links — Sending configured appeal URLs to banned users via DM
We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties.
Data Retention
- Server configuration — Retained until the Bot is removed from the server
- Moderation logs — Retained indefinitely for accountability purposes
You may request deletion at any time.
Data Security
- Data stored in secure MongoDB databases with TLS encryption
- No public API exposes raw moderation data
- Database access restricted to authorized personnel only
- Moderation logs only viewable by configured moderators via Bot commands
Your Rights & Choices
Server Administrator Controls
- Configure all moderation settings via
/config - Reset individual action configurations
- Control which roles can view moderation logs
Data Deletion
To request deletion of your data, join our Support Server and contact staff. Requests processed within 30 days.
Children’s Privacy
The Bot follows Discord’s Terms of Service requiring users to be 13+. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
